Founded in 1983 in Düsseldorf, STAC stands for 40 years of continuous product development and innovation and today represents one of the most important German providers of solutions for professional noise and vibration analysis.
Milestones of the company history
-
1991
SPTwin meets Standards
More and more STAC focussed it’s development on PC-based instruments resp. FFT analysers with unbeatable performance and high quality signal conditioning - even inside a PC, which is not very well suited for such an instrument. SPTwin was the first member of this product group. It provided preciseness and instrument quality of big stand-alone systems - for less than a quarter of their prices. And, it could be used in a PC environment.

1992
Portable Dual Channel Analyser "SPLap"
Before you could buy notebook PC’s, which were cheap enough, STAC has developed (sponsored by the German Government) a truly portable Dual Channel FFT Analyser. It provided two inputs with selectable ICP sensor power supply, 16 bit resolution, LCD display, battery operation for about two hours, an integrated arbitrary function generator and much more.

1994
Award winning medical technology
The EMBOtec system has been developed to provide a tool for individual risk assessment and improved individual monitoring in preventive therapy of stroke-prone patients. The system carries out Transcranial Doppler (TCD) signal recording and on-line emboli-detection – this requires high dynamic signal acquisition, fast real-time processing for FFT analysis, and an artifical decision process by neural network.

1996
Real-time vibration analysis for the Ariane V
After the first Ariane V rocket exploded 35 seconds after launch, the search for possible causes starts. To analyse possible vibrations in the engine's turbopump, STAC provides a special eight-channel real-time analysis system capable of tracking vibration peaks on each channel and triggering alarms based on "intelligent" neural decisions.

2002
The first vehicle measurement system
The first vehicle measurement system from STAC makes NVH and performance measurement possible with just one system. The black-box concept requires no operator intervention, offers robust storage of measurement results via memory card and allows online analysis of the measured values in real time. The system is also 100% compatible with STAC's established test bench systems.

2010
Measurement technology for e-vehicle production
As part of the "KMUProduction.NET" project funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia together with RWTH Aachen University and leading automotive suppliers, STAC is researching and developing measurement technology for quality control in the production of battery cells.

2016
Market launch EventScan CAR
EventScan CAR is used to collect brake performance data and to identify and analyse brake noise and vibration effects. It was specially developed for in-vehicle tests on the road. Extensive trigger capabilities, fast trigger responses, and highly dynamic and accurate speed, deceleration and stopping distance measurements allow the system to be used for a wide range of brake performance tests.

2020
48-channel measuring system for brake tests
STAC is proud to announce a significant expansion in its test stand measurement system capabilities. We are now equipped to support an impressive 48 high-speed measurement channels, providing our clients with an even more robust and comprehensive testing solution. This enhancement underscores our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and delivering top-tier performance in data acquisition and analysis.
